Sources of Kommersant have announced the closure of the sale of Finnish Sanoma of 30% of the Vedomosti publishing house to the former general director of Kommersant Demian Kudryavtsev. Negotiations between the parties have been known since last fall.
In addition to Vedomosti, Mr. Kudryavtsev may take control of The Moscow Times newspaper and several United Press magazines.
Previously, the value of 30% of the Vedomosti package of securities was estimated at € 6 million. Funds for the purchase were provided by a group of private investors, including Demyan Kudryavtsev himself. ')
Mr. Kudryavtsev should also be on the Board of Business News Media. The remaining two-thirds of the parent company will remain in the possession of the British FT Group (publisher of the Financial Times) and the American Dow Jones (publisher of The Wall Street Journal).
