Some time ago on Geektimes there was a heading "Geeks at work". Having moved to “Megamind”, it was transformed by changing its name to “How professionals work” and from today it will delight you with new heroes who take the most direct part in it.

Today our guest is Galina Timchenko, the editor-in-chief of the Medusa publication.

Without any applications, programs, utilities you can not live?
All communication within the editorial board takes place through Slack, for personal messages of Telegram, unfortunately, nowhere without Excel (you have to read and plan a lot).

Which life hack helps you save time?
I do not know how to save time, unfortunately. What helps not to waste it? Many bosses (including myself) are control freaks, so, according to my observations, it is control over performance that eats most of the time. I learned how to control the execution in a strictly allotted time - during the planning meetings.

What kind of to-do manager do you use?
None For some reason I forget about them, the remainder does not help. It helps only good old notebook, where you write something by hand.

What do you listen when you work?
I can not work to the music.

What are you reading now?
Just finished the memories of Ellendei Proffer about Brodsky.

Which book from the last read was remembered the most?
"The haze lays down on the old steps" Chudakov.

Do you use e-readers or prefer paper books?
I read almost everything in iBooks. Paper only when the electronic version has not yet come out, or when I re-read something from my shelves.

How long do you sleep?
In the past six months, at least seven hours, the previous years, alas, more than six did not work.

How do you have breakfast?
I do not eat breakfast. A glass of water, coffee and go. Many doctors told me that breakfast is obligatory, and that if you do not have dinner for two months, then in the morning your appetite is guaranteed. They lie. All my life I can not eat until noon.

What advice you have ever been given can you convey to others?
No matter how ridiculous, but "Morning of the evening is wiser." The fact that in the evening it seems like a terrible insoluble problem becomes a task in the morning, which clearly has more than one solution. And “Do not postpone for tomorrow what it is disgusting to do today,” will not become more pleasant.
