The head of Roskomnadzor accused of bureaucracy Twitter and Facebook

Today, the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, said that the social networks Twitter and Facebook often ignore the requirements of Russian legislation. He believes that part of the requests is ignored intentionally, and the reaction to the rest is delayed due to bureaucracy.

“Facebook and Twitter have several million users in Russia, and we behave patiently towards them. You know that I sent a letter to the administration of Twitter, expressing bewilderment about their position regarding ignoring our requests. After that, Twitter blocked 55 accounts, ”said Zharov.

The head of Roskomnadzor explains that some negative statistics periodically “accumulate” of companies' reactions to requests. Zharov is sure that the decision-making system is “overly bureaucratic”: “We have active interaction with them, we communicate by mail and Skype. Decision-making in this company lasts long enough, the first time it does not work, but once in a month and a half they delete illegal content. ”
