Recently, in my personal blog on Habré, I wrote
about a problem that could comprehend those who clean Mighty Mouse incorrectly, while making efforts. On the MacTime website, I
asked about broken mice and one person responded by giving away his “sick” pet free of charge.
And so, having two broken mice available,

I set out to collect one of them.
First you need to make a mouse autopsy. Since both of them already understood, the most difficult part - the separation of the rim, was already behind.

So very soon one of the main parts, which is the most problematic, was on the table:

Having examined it, I found the necessary details.

By the way, when disassembling my device, the missing piece of paw was found. But as you understand, welding it is not possible.

The basis was decided to take your own mouse. Then everything did not go very smoothly ...
Visually, two mice are exactly the same, with the exception that my (mouse number 1) side buttons are white, and the donor mouse (mouse number 2) is gray. In all other respects he didn’t immediately find a trick. What then strongly regretted!
')
Taking the frame with the metal foot from the mouse number 2, and the white frame holding the rollers and the ball, from the mouse number 1, I stepped on the first rake.
The second fatal mistake was the replacement of one native movie.
Now a little explanation.
The apparent sameness of small details is deceptive. It is impossible to use a frame with a foot from one mouse, and a frame from another. This combination does not ensure proper fastening of the rollers. They will not rotate properly.
Considering that the problem is still in the commercials, I replaced one of them, not paying enough attention to the existing differences. In the picture you can see what they are.

* pay attention to the highlighted parts, find the differences? *
Such a replacement led to the fact that the new movie rotated even in unnecessary cases.
Spending decently time, I still noticed inconsistencies. Therefore, carefully moved the metal foot to another frame, and also returned the native video to its place.
Having collected everything for the N-th time, I finally achieved the desired: the ball rotated the rollers easily and freely, and most importantly * correctly *!
Now a small problem is the USB cable. Without a rim, it sometimes falls out and twists.

But the desire to glue the bezel back has not yet arisen.
I hope you will not allow home-run blunders and do the same operation many times faster.
