BlaBlaCar has acquired two competing companies:
Carpooling from Germany and
AutoHop from Hungary,
according to Roem.ru. There are no transaction amounts.
Employees of the acquired companies will work in BlaBlaCar. Cuts are not planned.
BlaBlaCar user base will double and reach 20 million people. Today the service is available in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

Service monetization has been launched only in France, Spain, Portugal and Poland. But after purchasing the Carpooling, the company plans to introduce a commission from the passenger and driver in Germany.
After acquiring AutoHop, BlaBlaCar got the opportunity to enter the market of Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Croatia.
In Russia, the service has appeared recently. In January 2014, he acquired the “Podorozhniki” riding company. Its creators began to lead the Russian division of BlaBlaCar.
