The company's revenue from the sale of tracks and albums on the Internet, as well as streaming services with a subscription in 2014, grew by 7% to $ 7 billion, Vedomosti

IFPI ).
Revenues from digital sales were almost equal to revenues from sales of music on physical media (prevailing in Japan, Germany, France) and amounted to 46% versus 56%, respectively. In total, the music market fell by 0.4% to $ 14.97 billion.
Within digital sales, track download revenues are down by 8%, and subscription services such as Spotify are up 39%. In total, over the past five years, the share of online music sales has doubled, which is slightly slower than forecasts by IFPI analysts.

The Federation believes that piracy is the main cause of market stagnation. According to the organization, every fifth user downloads or listens to illegal copies of tracks on the network.
