According
to Vedomosti, citing the information on the state procurement website, a subsidiary of Rosatom and Atomenergoprom Rosenergoatom is starting to build a data center in the Tver region. The construction tender was won by CHD Engineering. The project budget will be 6.4 billion rubles.
The construction of a data center with a capacity of 80 MW (8000 server racks) is a joint project with Rostelecom. This was reported to Vedomosti by Andrey Timonov, a representative of Rosenergoatom.
Both companies will benefit from the project. For Rosenergoatom, the data center is a new regular customer. And the data center, in turn, will be able to consume electricity at a reduced price.

According to iKS-Consulting, last year the total number of racks on the Russian data center market was 25,500. DataLine, the market leader, has a total of 2,695 racks.
Timonov also noted that 6.4 billion rubles will be spent on the construction of a data center, but they are not enough to fill the IT-infrastructure. According to experts, the cost of creating a space for a server rack can be about $ 40,000–60,000 (2.2–3.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank). This amount includes the construction of a building, electricity supply, installation of a transformer substation and engineering systems. Then the cost of building a site for 8000 can be 17.7 - 26.6 billion rubles.
Rostelecom
plans to launch the first quarter of its data center capacity in 2016, on the basis of Kalinin NPP.
The project is designed for several years, the company's turnover may be enough to finance it, notes Anna Lepetuhina, an analyst with Sberbank CIB. However, it does not exclude that the company will use borrowed funds.
