According to Kantar Worldpanel research data for December-February, the iPhone 6 took the first place, the new Xiaomi RedMi Note took the second place, and the third place was taken by another smartphone from Apple, the iPhone 6 Plus.
New Apple smartphones sold best among the urban population of China. The share of iPhone 6 was 10.6%. The total share of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was 27.6%. Prior to this, the leader was a novelty from the company Xiaomi.
“Since the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in Chinese cities, there has been a high demand for new Apple products. This situation continued with the arrival of the new year on the Chinese calendar. A significant proportion of buyers of Apple devices (59%) were subscribers of the Chinese operator China Mobile. Over the past month, Apple has continued to gain momentum, increasing its share in all key markets except the USA and Japan, ”says Carolina Milanese, chief high-tech researcher at Kantar Worldpanel.

Due to the success of the new devices and the growing share of Apple in the Chinese market, the share of Android smartphones in December and February decreased. So, a year ago it was 80.3%, and now it has decreased to 70.9%.
In Europe and the United States, new Apple smartphones also came in first place in terms of sales over the same period. In the USA, their share reached 38.8%, in Europe - 20.9%.
Android smartphones are leading the world: in Europe, their share is 67.6%, in the US - 55.6%.
Windows Phone smartphones accounted for less than 1% of the Chinese market. In the US, their share was 4.8%, and in Europe - 10.1%.
