Analysts of the British company SimilarWeb ranked various countries according to such an indicator as the volume of Internet traffic. In the resulting list, Russia is the
third in the world, according to Vedomosti . In the first place - the United States, with 25% of world traffic, and in the second - the United Kingdom with 5.5%. Russia lags behind the UK by only 0.5%.
When compiling the report, experts from SimilarWeb used such evaluation criteria as: direct, advertising type of traffic, as well as traffic from search services, social media and some other sources. Measurements were carried out in January 2015. According to the measurement results, the organization received about 1.5 trillion transitions to sites, using data from more than 200 countries.
Unfortunately, China has not been included in the statistics - here SimilarWeb simply does not work yet. As for the countries in the list, the places after Russia are occupied by France (3.9%), Germany (3.4%), Canada (3.2%), Japan (2.6%), and India (3 , 4%) and Brazil (4.4%).
The maximum number of transitions give direct transitions from the browser - about 43.4% of visits. The search engines index is 27.8%, and links from other resources give 21.13%. The transitions from email and promotional materials account for about 1%.

Interestingly, in the top ten most frequently used search queries was the word "Avito", which in January 2015 made more than 50 million transitions.
