The RBC
publication has published a material entitled “Fight and search: why Yandex loses Google the battle for Russia”.
The authors of the article cite a brief chronology of the struggle of the largest Russian and American search engines since 2007, in which Sergey Brin at the Moscow office of Google showed the first versions of the Android mobile OS at a closed presentation to Google employees. As we
know , in 2015 love was replaced by hatred, and Yandex sent a 200-page complaint against Google to the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation.
It turned out that even when preparing the documents for placing the company's securities on the NASDAQ Yandex electronic trading platform, in the “risks” section, it was mentioned that “the Android mobile platform can allow Google to have a significant impact on the placement of applications in mobile devices and the mobile advertising market”.

As noted in the publication at RBC:
The Russian search engine has become completely dependent on the product of its main competitor and risks losing the mobile search market.
According to many people in the market, Yandex and Google behave in exactly the same way and equally use “commercial” methods (programmers pronounce this word with disdain). "We have the right, we do not have a dominant position," - says a source in the leadership of "Yandex". “Look at the Russian search market - who is the monopolist here?” Objects a source close to the leadership of Russian Google.
Separately, it is worth noting the fact that, in addition to Yandex, the only national search engine that competes with Google and, like the Russian company that is losing the battle, remains the “small” Czech national search engine
Seznam .
