Uber is going to pay commercial licenses to its drivers in Germany

Uber's activities are banned in some countries, plus in some countries the company was repeatedly fined due to violations of the law , according to which only drivers who have the appropriate license can engage in private passenger transport. Due to the fact that Uber drivers do not have such a license, they have banned the Uberpop service in Germany. The Frankfurt District Court ruled that Uber drivers must acquire the appropriate commercial licenses, only in this case, the services Uber X and Uberpop will be able to work in the country and further.

In order to solve the problem with the ban, the company plans to pay such licenses to its drivers. The cost of such a license ranges from € 100 to € 200, writes TheVerge . In addition, the company intends to pay a license to partner companies, allowing the partner to operate as a taxi company. The cost of such a license is € 150- € 200.

Such a move by a company may indicate a serious change in a company's policy. For a long time, Uber maintained the view that drivers working under Uber X and Uberpop programs do not need licenses. Such drivers usually worked with their cars, unlike the company's partners in the Uber program (or Uber Black), where all drivers had the appropriate licenses, and were associated with traditional taxi companies. The problem is that for a regular driver a commercial license is quite expensive, plus everything, it is quite difficult to obtain.

Now, Uber has gone to purchase licenses for drivers in Germany, which could mean the widespread introduction of such practices. If in this country the licenses are actually purchased by the company, the court may reconsider the decision regarding the ban on Uberpop.
