State Duma equates popular bloggers with media

The State Duma in the third reading on April 22 adopted a number of “anti-terrorism” laws. Among other things, the deputies equated the visited blogs to the media.

According to the document, all bloggers whose pages are visited by more than 3 thousand users per day must comply with the requirements imposed on the media. They will be obliged to publish on their pages personal data and refrain from the mat. The concept of “information dissemination organizer” is introduced, which developers interpret as widely as possible - from a personal or commercial site to a group on a social network. The organizers will be required to cooperate closely with the special services and store metadata on activities on the web for six months. Violators face fines and blocking for a month.

In addition, bloggers should not use "materials that promote pornography, the cult of violence and cruelty, as well as materials containing foul language". They should check the published information for accuracy, to prevent publications about the privacy of other people or discrediting materials.
