Motorola Mobility won a lawsuit against Apple in Germany

The victory, however, is not very big - the trial concerned the function Push Email for such services from Apple as iCloud and MobileMe. An appropriate decision in favor of Motorola issued a court in Mannheim, Germany. Now Apple has to remove Push Email for German users.

Of course, users of Apple services from Germany will receive the necessary messages, but their delivery will be carried out in a slightly different way, which will entail some delay. This is not the end of the world, as the representative of the losing side rightly noted. Nevertheless, the victory of Motorola can be called indicative, especially since Apple recently lost a few more lawsuits.

The lawsuit itself concerned two patents, one concerning the iCloud service, and the second concerning the standardized radio technology. The court decided to divide the hearings on these patents. The first patent hearing ended in a victory for Motorola and the blocking of the above-named service in Germany. The second hearing, if Motorola wins, could lead to blocking sales of some Apple devices in Germany. But it is too early to talk about this, since the trial on this issue has not yet taken place.

In addition to blocking Push Email for iCloud and MobileMe services, Apple must pay Motorola Mobility financial compensation. It is a pity, but the court did not name the amount of this compensation. It is worth noting that not so long ago, European regulators expressed a desire to get acquainted in detail with the activities of Motorola Mobility itself (here I remind you that now this former Motorola division belongs to Google). According to regulators, the company is working with violations, which are going to reveal the Europeans.

In general, the fate of Motorola Mobility is generally foggy at all - after all, Google, after obtaining the entire patent base of this Motorola division, is going to resell Mobility. This is still unconfirmed information, but there are several sources of such rumors, which may indicate the reality of the sale. One of the buyers of Motorola Mobility may be Huawei Technology.
