Former Wikileaks employee Daniel Domscheit-Berg
promises to launch the Openleaks site next week. Unlike Wikileaks, he is not going to publish materials on his own. He will provide materials to other organizations - the media, trade unions, etc. Openleaks should become an intermediary between informers and the press. Its main function is to protect the anonymity of sources and to serve as a single center for information flow. In addition, Domscheit-Berg and his associates are unhappy with the management style of Assange and his scandalous fame. They promise to make the site more distributed and sustainable both technically and organizationally.
Still former colleagues blame Assange for the fact that he poured leaks rarely and in large chunks, specially selecting the most scandalous ones to popiarite properly. They promise that they will not artificially regulate stuffing and edit them.
I have mixed feelings about this news. On the one hand, they seem to correct the mistakes made by Assange, on the other hand, it is not clear, but how does this idea differ from anonymous file dumping? If they themselves are not going to edit the information, then all that is interesting is very likely to sink into the stream of delirium and deliberate disinformation. No news agency will pick it up and the project will die quietly. Of course, Assange can be blamed for artificial dramatization and pretentiousness, but you see, if it hadn't been for that, Wikileaks would not have been spoken so loudly and so much.
And of course, do not forget about this option: Assange and the company played a tricky combination. He himself is now a hero and martyr, the whole world knows about wikileaks, you can begin to work normally in a calmer and more prosaic way. However, this strongly smacks of conspiracy theories, and it seems to me that they are just banal quarreled, and now the former comrades Assange want their Wikileaks, with blackjack and whores. In any case, no one will be worse off. The point is good and necessary.
