Automatic cross-post from stand-alone blog to popular blog sites

I sincerely believe that a blogger is obliged to give to read himself in as many ways as possible.
In order to gather a considerable audience at first, a blogger will be helped by the publication of his posts on various blog sites. This post will be interesting also to those who refuse to leave the stand-alone blog, because the manual cross-post does not suit, and I do not want to lose the audience.
For myself, as a novice blogger, I chose the following online resources for cross-posting: LiveJournal (I actually left it), Liveinternet.Ru , BlogPost.Com (and of course blogger.com ) and Russian Blog.Ru .

I decided not to upload screenshots, as there is nothing difficult from the point of view of “enter the admin panel and press two buttons”. And where the admin is awful (Lire - hello!), I will give a direct link.

Let's define the tools and resources we need:

I bring to your attention a scheme that I use myself, and which completely suits me. Maybe it will seem inconvenient to you, but those simple techniques that I will use you can fasten to all decent blog sites.

Since I left LJ, where I had the lion’s share of my friends, first of all I attended to the cross-post exactly on this site.

All popular blog engines have a plugin (or this functionality is sewn into the core of the system) “LJ-crossposter”. For WordPress, this plugin can be picked up here . After installing the plugin (AdminPanel - Plugins - LJ-Crossposter - Activate) we do the following: go to AdminPanel - Settings - LiveJournal (http://yoursite.ru/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=lj_crosspost.php). We drive in a username / password account LJ, indulge in additional settings for a more nice display of the post in LJ (for example, set up copyrights or a permanent address of the entry).

Next we go to LiRu, log in and go to http://www.liveinternet.ru/synd.php?show_user=1

There I recommend to drive just the login from the LJ account, and if every reader of the feed on the counter from feedburner.com is important to you now, then you can also cross-post using the feed. To the counter +1. There is no cross-post mechanism on the Liru; there is an opportunity to put a tape from LJ and feed into your friends. A community will be created to display the feed. I recommend to leave in your new diary the only post - a brief description of your blog, you and other accompanying information. Plus, provide a link to the community with the ribbon.

Next, let's do a blogger aka Blogpost. It's all a little smarter. Blogging site does not allow to import posts in any way. But it allows you to write posts by sending a letter to a special email box :). So let's go, go to AdminPanel - Settings - Email - Blogger email address - enter the secret part of the email address there. Recall about the site rss2mail.ru , we will get a button there, indicating your feed (I recommend to hang the button on the blog), and subscribe through it, indicating the address of the mailbox entered in AdminPaneli a little earlier.

The last blog site will be Blog.ru - everything is also extremely simple here. Login and go to the address: http://blog.ru/import , Import Blog - Select the service on which your blog is located: LiveJournal (tested a little, with LJ the post appears faster than, for example, with LIRU) - only broadcast new ones - specify a username / password pair and voila. Before installing such a “bridge”, you can import old posts from LJ, LiRu, BlogPost and WordPress. He will even pull out tags (in WP - headings) and make a cloud out of them.

In such a simple way, you can set up a cross-post to popular blog sites, keeping the old one and potentially increasing the new audience. True, this is not the only way to give you the opportunity to read you where the user is comfortable, but more on that later, or as homework.

Cross post from my blog .
