LiveInternet.ru has become Runet’s largest blog hosting site.

Yandex has published another study of the Runet blogosphere ( PDF ). This is the third such report that traditionally comes out every six months: here are the previous versions for the spring of 2007 and the fall of 2006 .

In short, the main conclusions from recent statistics are:
* Over the year, the number of Russian-language diaries has increased 2.6 times. There are more than 3.1 million blogs in RuNet.
* The most popular blog hosting is LiveInternet.ru.
* Every day about 7 thousand new blogs and 210 thousand new entries appear in RuNet.
* For six months (since April 2007), the average blogger has matured for a year, now the average age of the diary owner is 22 years.

More than 75% of all Russian-language diaries are hosted on five hosts: LiveInternet.ru, LiveJournal.ru, Blogs@Mail.ru, Diary.ru and LovePlanet.ru. In April 2007, LiveJournal was the most popular blog hosting site. Now the leader has changed - LiveInternet.ru has already posted one and a half times more diaries.

Like six months ago (April 2007), the Russian-language blogosphere is about 3% of the world. This share is greater than the share of Russian users among all Internet users (about 2%).

If in the first half of last year (September 2006 - April 2007) the Russian-language blogosphere increased substantially faster than the world, in the second half, its growth slowed down a little and almost equal to the growth of the global blogosphere.

Now there are more blogs in Russian than, for example, in French, German or Portuguese, but less than in Spanish, Italian, Chinese, English or Japanese.

At least 30% of the Russian-language diaries are active (contain at least five entries and have been updated at least once in the last three months). The share of active blogs decreases - in the spring of 2007 about 60% of diaries were regularly updated. The least active blogs on Li.ru is about 20% of the total. For comparison, in LJ such 40%, that is, by the number of “live” diaries, the leader remained the same.

In total, Russian-language blogs posted more than 120 million entries. Every day, bloggers create about 210 thousand more entries (50 thousand more than six months ago). The most active bloggers - on Diary.ru - usually write one entry every 4 days. Least of all write on Blogs@Mail.ru (once every ten days). The diaries on the other hosts are updated 5-6 times a month. Only on Li.ru and LJ bloggers create about 600 thousand comments every day.

On weekdays, the most "blogger" time is between five and six in the evening, and also later, between nine and ten. On weekends, the peak activity begins between ten and eleven in the evening. Least of all records appear in the morning, from four to seven.

According to the data obtained by automatic text analysis in the diaries of users of all major hosting sites, the majority (about 60%) of Russian bloggers are female. The most "female" bloghosting can be called Diary.ru: almost three quarters of the bloggers there are women. The only blogohosting, whose authors are dominated by men (58%) is LJ.

For six months, the average blogger grew by a year - now the average age of the author of the diary is 22 years. The most "adult" hosting is still LJ. The average LiveJournal user is 25, he is six years older than Li.ru, and five years old is girls with Diary.ru.
