More than six months have passed since the publication by 3 German researchers of
The Slow Media Manifesto . He was translated into
Russian on
Chaskor , in early July, a small discussion was on
Habré , the Short response was on
Mediahunter (comparison of
Changes with the provisions of the manifesto),
Someone suggested to be attributed to the Russian “slow” media -
Spob.ru ,
Chaskor.ru and
Peremeny.ru . Therefore, it is possible to draw some conclusions. It seems to me that some awareness of this manifesto has already passed. It should also be noted that a year has passed since the publication of the
Internet Manifesto (
Internet Manifesto ). Both of these manifestos are striving for media quality and freedom, and on the eve of the new media season, I would like to return a little to the manifesto.
About 20 years ago, the BBC was “slow media” and CNN was “fast.” Partly, the concept of “Slow Media” intersects with the concept of
McLuhan's cold media . In the manifesto, as it seems to me, the “fast” and “slow” media are consumed through the Internet (dialogue, interface, sociality), in my opinion this is not quite the right prerequisite, since only the traditional “slow media” can now be media (book, film, radio program, TV program (program Larry King or “What? Where? When?”, magazine)
The first point of the manifesto:
“Slow Media” makes a contribution to sustainable development confirms my opinion. In the sphere of the Internet and online media, speed is still the basis, and it’s very difficult to position the newly created channel to display content as fundamental and fundamental, anyway he will strive, willingly or not willingly, to "quickness." This media lacks “coldness,” and since the communication channel itself implies that these media are “hot,” coldness can only be worked out and this takes a lot of time.
I would also note that this manifesto in paragraph:
“Slow Media” promotes concentration on one task, says that. that it is necessary to cut off information noise and garbage, That is, the task “slow media” in the information fields to create “wastewater treatment plants”, which will allow the consumer to receive high-quality information free from information noise (advertisement, jeans, etc.).
point:
“Slow Media” is distributed through the system of recommendations, and not through advertising ), as well as from the garbage thrown into the information field by various agents of influence. It is also worth noting that the concept of
“multimedia journalism” has recently become widespread, in conflict with which this particular manifesto is entering.
This manifesto reminds me of the cinema
"Dogma 1995" manifesto, Dogma tried to get away from, say, "Hollywood", from special effects and the commercialization of art, since journalism is a craft, then the media manifesto seeks to get away from special effects in information and from lowering the quality provided information, that is, from the commercialization of art. Citing the example of Dogma 1995, I wanted to show that the discussion of the “manifesto of slow media” is not a trend that will set development for the years ahead, it is rather a call for unification and a description of the criteria for creating really high-quality content for any information transfer channels.
PS
Spob.ru ,
Chaskor.ru and
Peremeny.ru in my opinion are not “slow media”.
