Widget statistics
Lijit tracked the sites where their widget was installed (Wijit) and provided some very interesting statistics on the widgets used.
These statistics are based on monitoring 8552 blogs with the Lijit widget installed, made from April 11 to April 15, 2007. The statistics included both visible and invisible widgets (for example, Google Analytics), but widgets that contain only graphics (for example, subscribers counters). Feedburner or LinkedIn user cards have been excluded from the review. Also, widgets that were automatically added by blog platforms such as Blogger or Typepad were not considered.
Despite the fact that a negligible number of blogs were tracked, certain conclusions can be made - it is more interesting for bloggers to know who is visiting their site, and not to make money from a blog.

And the most popular are widgets from Google: first place is taken by the Google Analytics widget, and second is Google AdSense.
