A year ago I
wrote about World Football Day, today I will repeat the idea of last year’s post.
On December 10, the information sites congratulate with the World Football Day, which is supposedly approved by the UN. On
the UN website, there is no information about the holiday, and even Google, in response to World Football Day (as it is called in the newspapers),
gives mostly Russian-speaking resources. Most likely the holiday was invented by the editor of the Observer newspaper in 2006. Every year, the text of
that note, almost unchanged, goes from publication to publication, and sometimes already goes offline. For example, in one of Kiev institutions there will be a party in honor of World Football Day.
I am not at all against football, and certainly not against the holiday of football. But I think that one should not allow the errors and inattention of editors to spread. I have not received a reply to my letters to the editors of several sites with this remark.

In order to add excitement to the post, I believe that the first to write about the “World Football Day” will be written with a nonexistent reference to ITAR-TASS.
