The idea of this holiday arose several years ago among the residents of the city of Murom, where the relics of the holy spouses Peter and Fevronia, patrons of a Christian marriage, whose memory is celebrated on July 8, rest.
This idea was supported by State Duma deputies, clergymen and authorities of several Russian cities:
at least 19 cities of the European part of Russia will host popular festivals, variety concerts and entertainment shows.
By the way, July 8 may become a non-working day .
