The New York Times will refuse the print version.

The publisher of the American newspaper The New York Times, Arthur Sulzberger, announced that in the future the newspaper would stop publishing on paper.

Only from 2008 to 2009 revenues from the sale of advertising in the newspaper fell by 27%. The publication sees salvation in the online version: in June 2010, according to comScore , The New York Times became the most popular online newspaper in the US - in May, the site was visited by 32 million 530 thousand unique visitors who viewed an average of 22 pages - which is twice as much as competitors.

According to Sulzberger, The New York Times has experienced many models of generating revenue from users for content, but they have not been successful. The newspaper will continue to work with Google to implement the “first click free service”, and will also charge for viewing only selected articles and materials of the site, while continuing to experiment with creating a profitable financial model.
