Guy Kawasaki appointed member of the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees

On March 24, the Wikimedia Foundation announced that Guy Kawasaki would join the Board of Trustees. He is currently an evangelist for Canva and a fellow at the Haas Business School at the University of California, Berkeley.

"Guy joins the board of trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation at an exciting time," said Jan-Bart de Vreede, chairman of the foundation's board. "We have great prospects ahead, and he will bring his rich experience."

Before joining Canva, Guy had time to work at Motorola and Apple, where he developed and popularized such a thing as "secular evangelism." It is thanks to his activities that Apple takes its current position.

Guy is also the author of such books as The Art of the Start 2.0, The Art of Social Media, Enchantment, and a dozen others that contain original authorial views on innovation, marketing, and business failure. In addition, he tries to spread his ideas in every possible way, acting as a speaker at various thematic events.

“Mr. Kawasaki thinks about capturing user attention and what really drives people,” said Lila Tretikov, executive director of the Wikimedia Foundation. "His passion is perfect for fulfilling the Wikipedia mission and I am confident that our cooperation will be very fruitful."

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees manages and oversees the distribution and collection of donations. The Board of Trustees is the highest governing body for the Wikimedia Foundation, consisting of ten trustees:
