The new CFO of Google has become "the most influential woman on Wall Street"

Ruth Porat, former financial director of Morgan Stanley investment bank, leaves the company and moves to a similar position in the search giant Google. Western media called 57-year-old Ms. Porat "the most influential woman on Wall Street."

She will start her activity in the new post from 26 May.

Former CFO Patrick Pisette made a decision to leave last fall. The 52-year-old French Canadian came to the conclusion that after 30 years of continuous work he will concentrate on traveling around the world.

Ruth Porat commented on her appointment:
“I am happy that I had the opportunity to return to California and join Google. While working at Morgan Stanley, I constantly saw how technology companies help people in their daily lives. I can't wait to get to work. ”

The Bloomberg publication notes that with the help of Ruth Porat, Morgan Stanley’s work quickly stabilized after the 2008 US debt crisis.

Ms. Porat was born in 1957 in the UK, moved with her family to California as a child. She graduated from Stanford University, after receiving a master's degree from the London School of Economics and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ruth Porat has worked in Morgan Stanley since 1987.
