How to develop a project manager: PDU mining
A modern project manager has many ways to demonstrate his professional development. One of these is obtaining a Project Manager Professional (PMP) certificate from the Project Management Institute (PMI). If you have already received such a certificate, be prepared to confirm it, extracting the so-called. professional development units (PDU).
Under the cut there are several free PDU mining methods tested by the author.
To confirm the status of PMP for 3 years, you need to dial 60 PDU. PMI provides 6 categories within which the project manager can take into account their professional development. Without describing each of the categories and the corresponding rules for calculating PDUs, I’ll tell you about the ways I have obtained 45 PDUs.

Category A. Educational courses from organizations registered with PMI
The website of the St. Petersburg branch of the International Institute of Project Management publishes information on useful events. For viewing the recording of each webinar, you can receive and, following the instructions , register 1 PDU.
Webinars and instructions for calculating PDUs are available on the website of the IT Metrics & Productivity Institute. Fragments of records can be viewed on the YouTube channel.
Category C. Self-education
On the PM Podcast website, you can listen to project management audio recordings. The manual allows you to register up to 30 PDU for a three-year reporting period.
Category D. Contribution to the profession, the creation of new knowledge
You can prepare a report on project management and submit it to your colleagues. The time used for the preparation of the performance can be converted into professional development units of category D at the rate of 1 training hour = 1 PDU.
Category F. Contribution to the profession, work in project management
For each year of work in project management, owners of the PMP status can charge themselves with 5 PDUs.
PDU registration is completed by PMI confirmation. The acknowledgment time of PDUs that I registered in the categories listed did not exceed 5 hours.
