Twitter is accused of "arbitrary and unfair" personnel policy

gender Another sexist scandal involving the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has not yet died down, and a new one is on fire at Western IT-Olympus.

According to Business Insider , a former employee of Twitter, Tina Huang (Tina Huang) offers to consider a class action lawsuit, which argues that the former employer has a complex incentive system, unfairly favorable to male employees.

In the text of the complaint, the lawyers of the employee describe the refusal of promotion in 2013.

According to the lawsuit, there are eight permanent vacancies in the engineering department hierarchy, supposedly intended to attract interest in Twitter, which do not necessarily reflect actual vacancies. Moreover, current employees can not qualify for them.

Special is the promotion mechanism itself. An employee who wants to be nominated for a candidate must be approved by the manager, after which the commission decision is made.

Ms. Huang's complaint is mainly that the process proceeded without any feedback. At the same time, she herself was on forced leave and was removed from all current projects. And in the meantime, despite the positive feedback on her work, the company tried in every way to denigrate her name in order to refuse promotion.

Also, the lawsuit states that after the refusal and the complaint, information about the initial complaint was spread in the company's depths, which could affect the attitude of the colleagues.

As additional information, it is indicated that as of 2009, there were only seven women among the 164 engineers in the company, and each of the 22 senior technical specialists over the applicant was male.

The Twitter press service denies any attacks, and claims that Ms. Huang quit on her own, despite her persuasion to remain. At the same time, the company hopes that the investigation will show the inconsistency of such accusations.
