Apple continues to search for partners to launch Internet TV

Apple plans to launch Internet TV this fall. It is planned to connect 25 channels, the exact list of which will be announced in June. So far, negotiations are underway with major television companies on this issue, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Internet TV will be available for Apple gadget owners: Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.

One of the most popular channels with which an agreement has already been reached on broadcasting is HBO. The leaders of Apple and HBO announced that they had agreed on a partnership regarding the HBO Now service.

Collaboration with Fox, ABC, CBS and Walt Disney and 21st Century film studios is still in the negotiation phase. Apple is not going to cooperate in principle with less well-known and large companies.

Comcast, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, could be a valuable partner for Apple. Comcast’s strong position in the broadband market could significantly expand Apple’s reach and help promote Internet TV. However, due to disagreements with NBCUniversal, negotiations were not crowned with success.

According to Business Insider, citing The Wall Street Journal, Discovery TV channel and Viacom company are also in talks with Apple. Viacom could be a worthy replacement for Comcast.

Apple exposes a low monthly fee for the services of its television ($ 30- $ 40 per month) compared with the fee for cable TV in the US ($ 90 per month). True, the number of channels of cable television is ten times more.
