Boguslavsky Fund continues to invest in Russian and foreign projects

According to Vedomosti, Ru-Net, the Russian venture capital fund of Leonid Boguslavsky, re-invested in the Indian startup FreeCharge and the American project DataDog.

FreeCharge is a service that makes it possible to get discounts and coupons on the company's website when replenishing the balance of a mobile phone. DataDog collects and visualizes information from servers, databases and applications of IT companies.

Despite the fact that in FreeCharge Ru-Net invested $ 20 million, its share in the project did not overcome the 15% threshold. All due to the fact that the authorized capital of FreeCharge has increased, since the project received $ 80 million in this round from investors such as Sequoia and the Sofina Foundation (Belgium)

At DataDog, Ru-Net has a 20% share, which has not changed since the end of the round. In total, $ 31 million was invested, $ 6 million of which was invested by Ru-Net. Also, Index Ventures (UK) and Open View Ventures (USA) invested in DataDog.

Each week, the number of FreeCharge users increases by 300,000. Each month, the replenishment of mobile accounts brings about $ 20 million. DataDog's revenue grows from quarter to quarter by 20-25%. Therefore, these companies are of considerable interest to investors.

At the very beginning of 2015, Ru-Net invested 10 million euros in food delivery service Delivery Hero. The Boguslavsky Fund was one of the first investors in the project in 2011. Then he was estimated at 30 million euros. And now his estimate has reached 1.65 billion euros.

Around the same time, Ru-Net, together with Baring Capital Partners, closed the $ 15 million round of the Russian company Mamsy. Mamsy.ru is an online store for young mothers. Ru-Net first invested in Mamsy in 2011, when the project had a valuation of less than $ 10 million.

The fund's portfolio includes investments in both Russian and foreign companies in an approximate ratio of 50 to 50. According to representatives of the fund, money is invested in companies regardless of their geographical location.
