Vodafone introduces maternity support program

Telecommunications provider Vodafone introduces a maternity support program. This means that women working in countries such as the USA, China, Papua New Guinea, and some African countries will reap the same benefits as their European or British counterparts.

This contributes to the equality of mothers throughout the world and is a signal to companies: supporting pregnant women can reduce costs and save valuable personnel.

Currently in the UK, the minimum maternity allowance is 90 percent of the salary for the first 6 weeks and £ 138.18 for the next 33 weeks. Women can take maternity leave, the maximum term of which is 12 months.

Vodafone offers pregnant women 16 weeks of fully paid maternity leave, as well as a 30-hour working week for 6 months after returning to work.

Other well-known British companies also offer similar support programs. For example, BT offers full payment for the first 18 weeks, and the next 26 weeks are paid according to the statutory rate. At the international level, payments are also made according to the rates established by the laws, but the company pays more to women than the laws.

Leading UK processor manufacturer ARM also offers maternity leave internationally. For British employees, the payout is 90 percent of the weekly income or the 6-week salary, which is divided by 2 over the next 20 weeks. The last 13 weeks are paid at the statutory rate.
