Sberbank plans to get 50% of the market of mobile payments through Platius

Sberbank bought a controlling stake in Platius, which operates in the field of mobile payments, RIA Novosti reports. Platius mobile application allows users to pay for the services of restaurants, shops and other market entities. Using Platius technology, Sberbank plans to get about 50% of the domestic mobile payment market.

According to the first deputy chairman of Sberbank Lev Khasis, this may happen by 2019, when the number of users of mobile payments will exceed 40 million people. Khasis also noted that the national-scale mobile payment system, which Sberbank plans to create, can become a standard for most retail businesses.

Unfortunately, the amount of the transaction has not yet been disclosed by the partners.

In addition to the controlling stake Platius, Sberbank also bought a controlling stake in the Russian company Rutarget, which is developing the Segmento advertising platform. The company uses AI and Big Data technologies to process and analyze large amounts of data in real time. As a result, the company gets the possibility of ultra-accurate advertising targeting based on behavioral factors of customers. Currently, the company has conducted over 500 advertising campaigns for various partners, including retailers and advertising agencies.

This acquisition allows Sberbank to work with the largest volume of data on customer behavioral factors in the domestic market. Now in the database Segmento - about 250 million audience profiles. In the near future, according to Lev Khasis, Sberbank plans to buy out the company completely.
