The audience of online resources for tourists decreased by 24%

According to RBC, in early 2015, the total number of users of the ten largest tourist sites in Russia decreased by 6.4 million unique visitors compared to last year. Analyzed the indicators of online-travel agencies, as well as information resources on tourism.

According to research company comScore, the leading position is taken by the Tutu.ru resource with an audience of 3.9 million. This level of attendance has been maintained among them since last year.

A similar situation is with the resource for booking Tophotels hotels: the number of users has decreased from 2.147 million to 1.042 million.

However, another online resource for booking hotels, Booking.com, showed the opposite picture: the audience increased by 10% (from 3.035 million to 3.345 million). The audience of the Tripadvisor service also grew by 12% (to 2.434 million).

Alexander Sizintsev, the general director of Biletix, explained the outflow of users by the fact that in December last year, many "were eager to buy in advance," and now they are saving the remaining funds.

Due to the crisis, demand has declined in all tourist destinations. According to the company Coral Travel, the number of buyers of summer tours decreased by 50%. According to the calculations of Biletix, the audience’s preferences shifted towards cheaper air tickets (up to 10,000 rubles). The number of tourists who are trying to save on flights is increasing, as tickets have risen on average by 40-60%.

However, Vladislav Shevtsov, CEO of DaTravel.com, noted that the study did not take into account 30-50% of traffic from mobile devices, which could significantly affect the results.
