Microformats on Wikipedia
It's about hCard and hCalendar (English) . You can talk about using other microformats for a long time, but not this time.
The topic itself is partly an announcement of what has appeared, partly an attempt to ask for advice on where to go or not to go further.
So, consider the possibility of using hCard in Wikipedia on the example of an article about Johnny Depp .
If we clean out all unnecessary, then at the moment the piece of code we need looks like this (in fact, the structure is somewhat different, but we are satisfied with this model; for simplification, they are shown by the wikicode) :
What kind of code can we get:
1. Full name (fn);
2. Other name options (nickname); - sometimes multiple names in one field
3. Date of birth (bday); - By the way, is it worth using the title of the span tag? Or will the task of a separate invisible span be ideologically more correct?
4. Country of residence (adr -> country-name);
5. Some descriptive note (note), characterizing person; - one can even think about the text, it may well be “an actor (USA, 1984 - to this day)” .

Therefore, only the planned indexing of microformats by search engines seems to me a reasonable reason for microformation.
Actually, what is the result? There is an opportunity to promote progress. There is no clear understanding of what this gives. And there are some technical difficulties.
