Mail.ru Group: we need not only taxes for foreign IT companies, but also support for domestic business

Mail.ru Group, represented by Deputy General Director Dmitry Sergeyev, stated the need to support domestic IT companies. According to Sergeyev (he left his comment on the initiative , which was discussed in the presidential administration), in addition to introducing taxes for foreign IT companies, we also need privileges for representatives of domestic businesses.

Sergeyev also added that Mail.ru Group does business in many countries, but the main thing is business in Russia, where taxes are paid. The main proposal of the Deputy General Director is the launch of VAT rebates for domestic technology companies engaged in the development of new technologies and services in Russia.

A subsidiary of Mail.ru Group, Mail.ru Games, has been suing domestic tax authorities for a long time on the issue of VAT refunds. Now the Russian legislation provides benefits for the payment of VAT for domestic software developers. But Mail.ru Games last year received a refusal from the Federal Tax Service of Russia No. 14 in returning VAT for the 1st quarter of 2013.
