Fresh Vedomosti, citing a source in the presidential administration of Russia,
writes about a meeting initiated by presidential aide Igor Shchegolev on the subject of additional taxation of foreign Internet companies, primarily Google and Apple.
According to the meeting participants, Google and Apple do not pay taxes to the Russian budget, in particular, VAT is not subject to purchases made by Russians in the AppStore, iTunes and Google Play.
The reason for the meeting was the
recent complaint of “Yandex” in the FAS Russia regarding the violation of Google antitrust laws.
