New ways of development of the Russian IT services market during the crisis

In a crisis in Russia, it is necessary to develop IT areas that will give the fastest economic effect: cloud computing, mobile technologies, big data processing, outsourcing and infrastructure optimization.

According to Gartner, the global IT market in 2015 will grow by 4.6%, which will be $ 964 billion. Unfortunately, this cannot be said about the Russian market.

Until 2014, the Russian IT market successfully developed, but due to the devaluation of the ruble a significant regress could occur.

According to IDC estimates, in 2015 the share of IT services on the market in dollars will decrease by 10%, and the share of the entire Russian IT market - by 18%.

Providers of Russian IT services are trying to respond quickly to changing global trends. Therefore, there is a chance that in the wake of the general rise of mobile technologies, cloud computing, big data processing and the spread of outsourcing, it will be possible to compensate for the general stagnation in the Russian IT market.

Cloud technologies allow to solve problems with the operation of systems. “However, despite the growing supply, the clouds are still much more expensive than classic solutions,” notes Elena Toll, head of the marketing department at Norbit.

“The characteristics of IT services are undergoing significant changes - customers and consumers are sharply raising issues of security, reliability and mobility,” admits Ilya Hayet, service management expert, ITIL Expert of Witte Consulting.

In 2014, the Russian market formed a demand for ready-made solutions that can quickly bring tangible results to the business. Now it will not be possible to interest the client, simply by offering him a promising and inexpensive technology. Dmitry Selivanov, vice-president of Maykor, sums up: “Price flexibility and the SLA level of 99.99% are not enough, you need to understand the real problems of the enterprise.”

Because of the crisis, many entrepreneurs are forced to reduce costs and transfer many types of work to outsourcing. But the need for IT professionals is not reduced, and the requirements for the professional skills of outsourcing professionals are higher.
From the outsourcing suppliers, the market situation requires, in turn, to expand the range of its services and acquire highly qualified personnel.

It is becoming increasingly important to generalize IT management methods for solving managerial tasks in manufacturing and business. This will lead to the complication and expansion of the set of IT services. In 2015, the service approach is expected to spread even in integration projects, which imposes even greater responsibility on service providers.
