FAS has filed a case against Google

The editorial office of Forbes, citing the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation, Igor Artemyev, announces the initiation of proceedings against Google.

As you remember, two days ago, Yandex explained the motivation of the complaint regarding the search giant. At today's “Government Hour” in the State Duma, the application was reviewed and stated that they expect to conduct an inspection within a month. At the same time, the head of the FAS information technology department, Vladimir Kudryavtsev, told Interfax that the agency had already monitored the situation. According to the official, the term of the investigation may be extended, since gadget manufacturers are involved in the case.

If Google’s violation of antitrust laws is confirmed by the FAS, it may issue an order to exclude clauses that restrict the installation of third-party applications and services, including Yandex, from agreements with manufacturers.
