British provider of online courses FutureLearn took a million bar

FutureLearn , a university platform, has reached one million subscribers. The supplier, the so-called Moocs (mass open online courses) notes that interest in online education began to grow dramatically, in the last three months of 2014, the number of subscribers increased by more than 20%.

The launch of FutureLearn occurred in September 2013.

The establishment of the Open University allowed the creation of a platform for online courses, an area previously dominated by American university networks.

Online courses created at many of the best universities in the world can be studied anywhere - and FutureLearn is no different in this from its counterparts. The platform covers 190 countries. Executive Director Simon Nelson (Simon Nelson) explains that the company's main mission is to build such an online education system so that it can compete on an equal basis for the free time of people with watching television and social networking.

Over the past month, users of FutureLearn in total spent about 400,000 hours of training time. At the moment, there is an accelerating scaling characteristic of all emerging markets.

“At first, we attracted a high-security group of users, but still a relatively small number of people we want to attract to spread information about us are known so that as many people as possible can use our services,” Mr. Nelson said.

Much of the success of the platform comes from the ease of use of an innovative digital product while respecting the esteemed traditions of the educational industry.

Student profiles show that the typical age group is from 26 to 35 years old, and 62% of students are women.

FutureLearn's main competitors are Coursera from Stanford and eDX, the joint brainchild of Harvard and MIT.

Coursera has more than 11.5 million students enrolled in courses from 118 universities and institutes.

And what can I say, while I am writing this article, the number on the subscription counter has changed to several hundred people.
