At the end of 2014, the net profit increase of "Yandex" was 26%

The results of Yandex for 2014 improved compared with 2013. Net profit increased by 26% and reached 17 billion rubles ($ 302.5 million). And the revenue for the year increased by 29% and reached 50.8 billion rubles ($ 902.4 million). In the fourth quarter of last year, net of remuneration to partners, revenue increased by 25%, taking into account the revenue of Yandex.Money by 27%, and for the entire 2014 also by 25%.

90% of Yandex’s revenue is contextual advertising. During 2014, revenue from contextual advertising increased by 31% and amounted to 46.6 billion rubles. And in the advertising network, sales grew even stronger and reached 11.4 billion rubles, which is 45% more than last year.

The situation with media advertising turned out to be worse: from April to June 2014 sales went down. As a result, they fell by 6%. However, from October to December, sales increased by 3%. “We launched an auction product in RTB, and this, in turn, ensured an increase in the number of partners placing Yandex advertising on their websites,” said Asya Melkumova, a company representative.

The growth of net profit was positively influenced by various factors, including the change in the exchange rate. If you do not take this influence into account when calculating, then as a result profit growth will be only 13%.

It can be predicted that in the future the growth rates will come to the leading places, to which they do not yet attach much importance. We are talking about the indicators of Yandex.Market, Yandex.Taxi and other services. The total share of revenues from them is still small, but over the year it has grown by 138%.
