What will please us new Adium

Adium 1.3 is just around the corner. What awaits us in the new version?

First , a convenient search in the contact list. Press ⌘F and type the first characters.



Currently it works for a standardized list of contacts.

Secondly , the completely reworked Contact Inspector, which brought together information about a contact, meta-contacts, settings, and entries in the Apple Address Book.



Thirdly , Facebook support will appear. Russian users of this popular social network is not so much, so not everyone will appreciate this opportunity.



Fourth , performance has been greatly improved. You will notice this in the case of using multiple accounts or in those moments when the hard disk is very heavily loaded.

Fifth , a lot of fixes and improvements. Here are some of the most interesting:

* the ability to "throw" a song from iTunes to contact: which will lead to sending a file through Adium
* transfer fragments of text and links using drag-and-drop.
* clearing the message window via the context menu or sending the message '/ clear'
* ability to disable Growl for different statuses



* and much more, ending with the exotic: the abbreviation "B.Sc." (Bachelor of Science) will not turn into a link when sending

In the settings, you can enable the checkbox for updating the beta versions, but this should be done at your own risk and risk, therefore, it is recommended only for experienced users.



Personally, I wanted the developers to pay attention to the speed of work with the history of correspondence. A possible solution is to use a local database instead of XML files.
