Ilya Perekopsky invested in Cyprus SMTDP Tech

Izvestia reports that in May last year, the former vice-president of VKontakte Ilya Perekopsky became an investor in SMTDP Tech startup registered in Cyprus. This company creates a technology to determine whether corrections have been made to a digital photo or video file. The news is confirmed by the source "Izvestia" and Ilya Perekopsky himself, as well as representatives of SMTDP Tech.

Here is what Illya himself says about this:
- The project makes a young and talented team from St. Petersburg, which I have long known. The guys have made a unique technology, there are no analogues, and it can be safely scaled to the whole world.


The company's solution, known as “Anti-Photoshop”, consists of several software products based on the same technology. In addition to the very fact of editing, you can also find out in what, specifically, the software package this happened, and also indicates the likely editing zones.

It is noted that such a product may be of interest to law enforcement agencies, insurers, advertising agencies.

In addition to Perekopsky, Flint Capital (formerly Finam) and IIDF are involved in the deal. The latter reported that they own 12.5% ​​of the company, refused to disclose the shares of other owners. At the same time, the co-founder of Flint Capital, Oleg Seydak, said that in the amount of investors invested about $ 1 million, he refused to disclose the size of his share.

Rights to the software product Picture Manipulation Inspector belong to SMTDP Technologists Ltd., to which they were transferred in the summer from the Cypriot parent company SMTDP Tech Ltd after a request for de-offshore. At the same time, the Russian company is 100% owned by the Cyprus.
