Microsoft and Samsung have completed a licensed dispute involving Android devices. This was announced by companies late on Monday. Terms of the settlement, as always, were not disclosed.
Last year, Microsoft filed a lawsuit against Samsung after Samsung allegedly did not pay a certain fee, under mutual licensing agreements related to patents used in Android devices. Samsung claimed that the contract was not viable after the acquisition of Microsoft’s Nokia mobile division.
In 2011, the companies secured a patent agreement in which Samsung agreed to pay Microsoft royalties in 2011 for each Android-based phone sold. According to the lawsuit, Samsung still owes $ 6.9 million in interest.
Microsoft holds patent and license agreements with other Android OEMs, such as HTC.

Although Android is Google's operating system, Redmond claims that some of the underlying technologies use Microsoft patents. It has never been stated how much Samsung should pay for each device sold, but payments from royalties totaled $ 1 billion in 2013.
