Yesterday I ran into a problem - the site of Domodedovo Airport was lying, but I really wanted to look at the online arrivals board. A thought was formed in my head “but to ask people at the airport to glance at the board and write me the time of arrival”, after some thought, it was formed
Service concept:
Mobile / web client that allows you to update your location (periodically, by hand, based on GPS, "favorite places") The possibility of organizing small, geographically localized chats with everyone who is in a given place / area Any IM robots, update via twitter No doubt, the service should be anonymous, so that users can update their geo-status without fear of surveillance. But if there is a desire, the user can display any information (nickname, profile, etc.) Overlay users on the map, with the indication of the geo-status update time Setting the area for chat as based on the current position (everything, within a radius of 1 km from me), and by selecting an object and radius on the map (google maps mashup)
The main problem solved by the service: the opportunity to ask for advice
Examples of using:
Airport example above Ask cafe guests about availability, ask to take a table for example. Find out from holidaymakers on the beach whether water is warm today and big waves Ask about parking availability ')
In the process of writing a post, a new name emerged: “social webcam” , a service that allows you to see something through the eyes of other service members.
I must say right away that I don’t want to overload the service with social “tinsel”, friends, circles, see where friends are, etc. For me personally, this functionality is of little interest in the context of this service, although, I think, someone needs it.
The nearest ready-made solution is loop, a geo-social network, their demo was shown at WWDC. But this is all there and there is no trace, there is just social tinsel.
