At the
PGconf conference held on February 6-7, Nikolai Nikiforov, Minister of Communications, revealed some details of the upcoming "de-monopolization of the global IT ecosystem."
What is the problem and what are the ways to solve it according to the minister?
The duopoly of the American and as a result of the global mobile market has not changed its borders over the past 6 years. And still its borders continue to look unshakable, with 96% of the market divided between the two largest platforms: Apple iOS and Android.
Dependence on global, and initially American companies, the desire to be independent and prompted Nikolai Nikiforov to join the discussion of Tizen - a platform promoted mainly by Apple’s main competitor on the global market - by Samsung. And besides this, looking towards Sailfish OS, developed in Finland, although it is an offshoot of the open MeeGo, is not itself “open” to the end.

On February 5, the following message appeared on the minister’s official twitter:
A little later, already at the conference itself, Mr. Nikiforov, purposefully or not, also announced the possibility of issuing grants and the support of domestic developers wishing to migrate from the platforms currently used to Tizen and Sailfish.
Last month, Samsung officially launched the sale of the first Tizen-smartphones in India, and this month Nikolay Nikiforov comments on their possible appearance on the shelves of domestic sellers.
In addition to Samsung, today no one launches the development or release of devices on Tizen, and on this account Nikolay Nikiforov has an opinion that this cannot last forever.
Sailfish Pro is the same.
According to our Minister of Communications and Communications, Android is controlled by a US company, using the example of not allowing Google, Korean giant Acer, to enter the market in 2012 as an example.
If you try to guess the policy of our state on the basis of the minister’s tweets, fewer Google and Apple are waiting for us, and more and more initially open platforms and devices on them.
One thing is not clear - what amount, if it will be at all invested in the development of Tizen in Russia, to whom it will be given.
TechCrunch asked for the minister’s comments, but by the current moment, it appears that he did not receive a response.
But, we can conclude that the money if there will be, then only to domestic developers and companies.
