All of us, or almost all, ever went to interviews. And all of us (or almost everyone) were told the phrase: “We will definitely call you back” and they didn’t call back - which actually should mean that, alas, you didn’t come.
I'm not an exception. A month ago, I decided to change my job and went to interviews. So, just in one company I had a really cool interview on a programming language, not “Thank you, tell me what you did and whether you can do this.” In the end there was about the same phrase and I naturally did not call back.
But today a letter arrived:

Andrei Vladimirovich, good afternoon!
I apologize that we are so delayed in answering your candidacy for our vacancy *** developer. We had to extend the search time, so the discussion and choice was so prolonged.
Unfortunately, at the moment we are not ready to make you this offer.
It was a pleasure to have an interview with you and I sincerely wish you good luck in finding a new job!
Honestly, thank them very much. I would like all employers to write and do what they promise, even by letter.
Dear employees of the personnel department - if you promise to call back, then call back or at least send a letter. And if you also write / say why it didn’t fit, it would be absolutely perfect. After all, I, as a specialist who wants to become a professional in his specialty, need to know what my problems are.
