And again, another investigation in my performance. I am glad that previously written articles on the same topic:
domain.kiev.ua/index.php?module=notes&id=73 and
domain.kiev.ua/index.php?module=notes&id=77 found their readers.
In the comments I heard a lot of suggestions to write a similar article on the control panels for the domain names that I successfully registered. I obediently submit myself to public opinion and bring to your attention a regular review related to the assessment of registrar companies and the services they provide.
First of all, let me remind you that the control panel is the center of the entire hosting system. The more convenient, clearer the panel, the more functions it has, the better for it itself and, accordingly, for those who use it. And from here comes the impression of the company offering this panel.
')
Let me remind you that 4 of 5 registrars (TanHost, Imena, Redo, Adamant) have a control panel available, except, unfortunately, one - UKRHOSTING. These 4 panels are subject to my detailed consideration.
I will go through each proposed function separately.
The first thing that catches your eye is DNS server records (MX, A)
Each domain is described by several records in the DNS system. Personal account allows you to flexibly configure the network parameters of your resource - edit A, NS, MX, SOA and CNAME records. In our case, A-record (Address) and MX-record (Mail eXchanger).
In 3 out of 4 companies this feature is provided. I will note right away so that later there will be no reservations about TanHost. In the panel itself everything is grandly nobly described, all functions are in place, but ... only theoretically. When it comes to practice, an incomprehensible picture begins. The registrar reports that in the Ukrainian domains - ua, .com.ua, org.ua, net.ua, .region.ua, no action is possible. Without further ado, the company redirects to Hostmaster for further changes. Unfortunately, when registering my domain in the com.ua zone, this detail was not mentioned. It's a pity. Another registrar company is eliminated from our rating due to the absence of a subject for evaluation.
Next - change DNS server. Moving is always a problem, both in life and on the Internet. For example, you are not satisfied or just bored with the service of this company, and you just need to thrill and transfer your domain to another hosting. So, not all registrars agree to “give away” their domains just like that. And those who still provide such a function to their users are honor and praise to them! Of the 3 registrars I estimate, 2 “give away” your domains in good hands, except Redo. This company decided not to grant the right to change DNS server, thereby tying the user to him forever and irrevocably. It is possible to change DNS server and it will work, but not through the control panel.
Change of domain owner information
With this item, everything is clear. Change of information about the owner can be made, for example, when changing the actual owner of the domain or brand. In principle, there are no special difficulties with this. Practically every recorder (besides the ones I selected) offers this setting in the control panel. Imena.ua and Adamant.net provide such an opportunity. At the same time, if you wish to change the information about yourself with Adamant, then before changing any settings in this area, you will have to register a nic-handle. Redo, unfortunately, again did not earn a plus, this company does not allow its users to change personal data.
Email and web redirect
Speaking of abstruse computer language, web redirection is the setting to redirect specific WWW domain URLs to any other URL on the same or any other site. Mail redirection is an email address, the sole purpose of which is to forward all incoming mail to another address located either on the local or remote mail server. I am not sure that this function is as important as the others, but its presence clearly improves the understanding of the registrars who offer this setting in the control panel. Redo and Imena allow you to redirect both the sites themselves and mailboxes, which is not the case with Adamant. In its control panel, this function is missing.
