However, the amount of duty-free shopping in an online store is still under discussion in the government, and it looks like the threshold will still be higher. In any case, today there is news that the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation plans to make a threshold above 150 euros, but below 1000 euros. In addition, the question of reducing the amount of duty-free purchases can generally remove from the agenda.

A few days ago, it became known that Vice-President Igor Shuvalov instructed agencies to prepare materials for the abolition of lowering the threshold of duty-free value for goods purchased abroad. These materials should be prepared before the end of this week.

In addition, on October 30, the government will discuss the question of canceling the reduction in the duty-free price of parcels, as well as (if this reduction does not cancel at all) the new threshold for the duty-free purchase of goods abroad.

It seems that the government decided to use a business approach to this issue, and finally analyzed in detail the statements of the Ministry of Finance about the loss of income of 20 billion rubles from foreign purchases of citizens and legal entities, as a result of the high threshold of duty-free purchases.

Now the government has indicated that this circumstance is immaterial, it also indicates that the customs does not collect the required duties even at the current threshold.

Anyway, it remains to wait only a few days, and the question will become clearer. The fact that lowering the threshold for purchases abroad can be canceled is simply wonderful.
