The author of the Russian Internet "Cheburashka" added to the idea

Clarification and partial denial of the initiative to create the Russian Internet was brought by its author, member of the Federation Council, Maxim Kavjaradze , on Tuesday during a short press approach.

The senator noted that the Runet will not be separated from the global network, and the opposition to the senator is needed to see errors. Maxim Gennadievich also explained what the Internet is and what it was about the development of the “global Russian Internet”, which will work in parallel, on top of the existing international network. The representative of the Lipetsk Regional Council considers it necessary to create its element base, which was missed in the 90s, but the revival of which does not seem to him a problem, since "we have the entire periodic table, <...> we have our own Silicon Valley , Skolkovo <...> the same bloggers who can connect to the process. ”

Separately, the senator tried to highlight the issue of hosting servers of companies such as Google in Russia, but so far he was unable to give a direct answer. Emphasizing and drawing particular attention to the fact that the search giant was buying “the first cybercomputer, the pictures of which are being sent by a robot”.

The name of the network “Cheburashka”, according to Maxim Gennadyevich, is justified by the need to attract attention: “You remember, Cheburashka is an animal unknown to science, its appearance causes a stir”. Also, the senator refuted the idea of financing the ideas from the regional budget, saying that it was a question of transport law.

Another member of the Federation Council, Anton Belyakov, one of the three senators who did not vote for the adoption of the “law on bloggers” on the TV channel “Rain” (5:24) spoke in favor of the expediency and technical possibility of creating a duplicate Russian Internet network. However, the senator noted that whether such a network would be created for caesura for political reasons or some other is a separate question.

At the same time, several sources of the Kommersant newspaper became aware of the impending ban on placing DNS servers in the .ru and .rf zones outside of Russia and licensing the “activity of translating URLs into IP addresses”. Also, the working group proposes to deprive the authority of the “Coordination Center of the National Domain on the Internet” in favor of the federal executive body and introduce 3 levels of networks: local, regional and all-Russian, in which only the latter has the ability to connect abroad. Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian president, told Kommersant journalists that he “hears for the first time about the existence of the working group and its proposals, and representatives of the industry could not provide operational comments. However, the sources of the TV channel "Rain" believe that this information may be "stuffing" or "plum" [to assess the public reaction].
