A precedent justifying Odessa’s fame as the capital of humor occurred in one of the courts of the Odessa region - the judge ruled in the case of moral damages, taking as proof of an administrative offense notarized screenshots of the forum, which actually appeared as “insults” that triggered the proceedings .
A certain construction company “McKenley”, working under the auspices of one of the local deputies, in 2006 received a long-term lease of 33 hectares of land in the
Kominternovsky district of the Odessa region (this is the coastal region of the Black Sea) for 50 years for building on “dubious conditions” with a resettlement condition locals.
Local activists of the village of Fontanka, in whose territory construction was to begin, began to criticize the company's management at the forum with a rather detailed analysis of its activities. As far as it can be understood, this is a discussion of this
resource - it was not possible to determine the “offensive” post itself, because there are quite a few of their negative records.
As a result, a local resident of the village of Fontanka was sentenced to pay 15,000 hryvnias (about $ 1900) in favor of the McKenley company, and, most interestingly, the “notarized” screenshots of the above-mentioned forum served as evidence of the case. Also, but smaller amounts must be paid by three more local residents of Internet activists. And, apparently, the absence of evidence that the owner of the account on the forum and the real person against whom the lawsuit was filed, is the same person, the judge was not interested.

A convicted by court decision outraged:
So I can award anything: up to extremism! After all, anyone could register under my name, on any forum and then write various slander letters. And if someone registered under the name "Viktor Yanukovych Fedorovich" [ President of Ukraine - aut. ], then the Comintern Court would have fined the president? "
With all the tragicomicalness of this situation, one cannot but
remember Judge Alsop, who dealt with the tattered cause between Apple and Samsung, and once again think about how firmly the Internet has entered the daily life of people on the one hand, and how few people know it. reasonable and legitimate decisions related to its specificity.
