Assange told the police that he would not leave the embassy of Ecuador

Julian Assange is more than a week in the London Embassy of Ecuador, where he asked for political asylum on June 19. The story took a dangerous turn when representatives of the British police said that the law on extradition took precedence over the law on political refugees, so the fugitive "criminal" would be arrested as soon as he leaves the embassy, even if he already receives the status of a political refugee heading to the airport.

Yesterday, the police sent another agenda to Julian Assange, but he refused to come to the police department for extradition.

According to British lawyers, in such a situation, the founder of Wikileaks technically has only one option to avoid arrest: to become a representative of Ecuador to the UN. In this case, he will receive diplomatic immunity. At the same time, Assange’s lawyers strongly disagree that the law on extradition takes precedence over the Declaration of Human Rights.

On June 23, Ecuador’s Ambassador to London, Ana Alban, was summoned to Quito for consultations, and Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa spoke in support of Assange. It remains to solve only one question: how to leave the territory of Great Britain unnoticed by the police, without violating the law.

In the event of extradition, Julian Assange will be transported to Sweden and immediately placed in prison. He will have little chance of being released on bail, since the Swedish court will certainly take into account his current behavior.

At the same time, the embassies of Ecuador in the US and the UK received more than 10,000 emails asking for asylum to the founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange. The announcement of this is published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador . The American human rights organization Just Foreign Policy sent a message in support of Assange personally to President Rafael Correa, the message said that attempts to arrest Assange are politically motivated for his journalistic activities within the framework of the Wikileaks project. Among those who signed the appeal are film directors Michael Moore and Oliver Stone, as well as the philosopher Noam Chomsky.
