Not very
fun :
Intelligent Integration Systems (IISi), a small Boston development company, claims that their Geospatial Toolkit and Extended SQL Toolkit products were illegally used in the development of Netezza, a Massachusetts company, which in turn fulfilled the order of a government client. In the course of the subsequent trial, this was proved, as well as the fact that the Central Intelligence Agency turned out to be this very state customer, and the software was intended for Predator drones.
Now IISi is fighting for Netezza to stop using their toolkits for three years. The most important and interesting thing, according to the plaintiff in court documents, is that Netezza used a cracked version of the software, with a truncated targeting function, which was caused, in part, by unrealistic deadlines that the CIA put on. As a result, Predator drones can smash past the target by as much as forty feet.
Obviously, this is what happens when someone wants to get an order cheaply in a short time. Government agencies, as we see, are no exception. Competent specialists should look after any high-tech orders.
