Americans have repeatedly seen that in one way or another they are trying to please minorities living in the territory of the United States by protecting them from conceivable and unthinkable attacks, hints, ridicule, and other attacks on their weak psychological health.
So just yesterday a
letter of the following content was
published in the mailing list for developers of the
Cherokee web server:
“Your logo is extremely cultural insensitive to American Indigenous Peoples. Please delete or change it. There are huge debates in North America regarding people using Native American symbols / logos / caricatures to humiliate or otherwise hint that indigenous peoples are fast, weird, weak-minded, etc. The idea of indigenous server names and logos for web servers makes little sense. Maybe you could consider revising your logo and using something else, rather than a caricature of a person? ”
Let me remind you that the Cheerokee web server is an extremely dynamically developed web server known also as one of the fastest web servers (
according to the developers ) today.
In this regard, the outcome of this issue is interesting, since, in my opinion, the next well-known Apache web server may be the next. At the moment, this is just a request to the developers, but it is possible that someone might be in the position to turn this issue in the direction of the trial.

UPD: A little about the creator of Cherokee - this guy's name is
Alvaro Lopez Ortega and he lives in Madrid, Spain. From 2004 to 2008, he worked at Sun Microsystems as a technical leader. Interestingly, do Americans really believe that they have the right to tell the citizens of another state what to do so that in far-off America live well to the few Indian survivors? I respect the Indians as a brave and wise nation at the time, but to dictate conditions through the oceans is somehow too much. Although I doubt that this is an initiative of the Indians.
PS: I personally find it interesting to watch American attacks of tolerance, because as a result of such attacks, a minority dictates the norms of behavior to the majority. With this approach, a white heterosexual American will be the most disadvantaged in the United States.
